1,000 Syrian orphans graduate; KRCS honors Quran memorizers

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced on Sunday the graduation of 1,000 students and honored the memorizers of the Holy Quran in the city of Gaziantep in southern Turkey. The chairman of the board of directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, said in a telephone call with the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that Syrian orphan students have graduated from the kindergarten and primary stages.

This humanitarian project comes within the programs sponsored by the association, with the aim of supporting orphan families and educating their children. He stressed the keenness of the association to help children and the most vulnerable groups. Dr. Al-Sayer said that the donors are the main supporters in the implementation of these outstanding projects, pointing out that “the support we see today embodies the Kuwaiti role and its slogan (Kuwait is by Your Side) based on the directives of the political leadership.”.

For his part, the chairman of the board of directors of the Levant Society for the care and sponsorship of orphans, Mohammed Shandi, explained that this project contributed greatly to providing psychological support to the orphans and their families, praising the role of Kuwait, the government, and the people and their great efforts in supporting their Syrians inside and outside Syria.

He added that Kuwait is always proactive in supporting the vulnerable and needy wherever they are, and this confirms its great humanitarian role. It is noteworthy that the Kuwait Red Crescent Society launched a project to shelter and empower Syrian orphan families in cooperation with the Levant Association for the Care and Sponsorship of Orphans in the city of Gaziantep in 2018.
