Minister of Information and Culture Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said that bilateral relations and cooperation with the Bahraini Ministry of Tourism are necessary to develop the vital and important tourism sector in both countries. Minister Al-Mutairi affirmed in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday after receiving Bahraini Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Fatima Al-Sayrafi, on the occasion of her visit to the country.

He said that the historical Kuwaiti-Bahraini relations are solid and continuous under the leadership of the two countries. He added that the bilateral ties are “complementary and fraternal” and overflow with love, brotherhood, and joint work between the two wise leaderships and brotherly peoples, expressing his happiness with this visit, which comes within a series of ongoing fraternal visits between the two sides to enhance mutual understanding.

 

The officials discuss frameworks for constructive cooperation in all common issues related to tourism and related sectors in both countries. He praised the development of the tourism sector in Bahrain, which was crowned this year by naming Manama the Gulf Tourism Capital for 2024, stressing that tourism has become a major industry and a development sector that supports the economies of countries and enhances productivity.

For her part, Minister Al-Sayrafi stressed that her visit aims to enhance cooperation in the field of tourism promotion and marketing between the two countries within the framework of enhancing Gulf tourism cooperation, noting the depth of the relations that unite the two brotherly countries are built on a solid history and strong fraternal ties.

She pointed out the importance of discussing ways to push Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations towards broader horizons of cooperation and progress is to achieve more joint achievements and successes in various fields of development, adding that Bahrain, as the Gulf Tourism Capital for 2024, is keen to launch joint tourism packages to enhance the Gulf identity, provide an integrated tourism experience for visitors, and promote the Arabian Gulf region as a tourist destination. The Bahraini Minister of Tourism arrived on an official visit to Kuwait.
